Strength of recommendation and Quality of Evidence
Throughout this website, strength of recommendation (SoR) and quality of evidence (QoE) are used for medical guidelines. The following ratings are used for SOR and QoE unless otherwise noted in the guidelines.
Abbreviations
LoE = quality of evidence
RCT = randomized controlled trial
SoR = strength of recommendation
Strength of recommendation
A = strong evidence for the recommendation
B = moderate evidence for the recommendation
C = weak evidence for the recommendation
Quality of evidence
I = evidence from large RCTs with good methodology
II = evidence from small/large RCTs with questionable methodology
III = evidence from other studies or based on expert opinions
